Cookie Policy

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store and send back on later requests. Related technologies — local storage, session storage and pixel or beacon requests — do much the same job. Where this policy says "cookie", it means all of them.

A first-party cookie is set by the site you are visiting. A third-party cookie is set by a different domain whose content the page has loaded. Third-party cookies are what make cross-site tracking possible, which is why we do not load any third-party content until you ask us to.

2. Our approach

Four rules, and we hold to all four:

1. Nothing runs before you choose. No analytics script, no marketing pixel and no third-party embed loads until you have given consent for that category. Rejecting is a real rejection, not a delay.
2. Reject is as easy as accept. The banner presents "Reject all" and "Accept all" at identical size, weight and prominence. There is no hidden second click, no pre-ticked box and no dark pattern.
3. Your choice is stored first-party. The one cookie set by default records only your decision. It contains no identifier, no personal data and nothing that could be used to recognise you elsewhere.
4. Withdrawal is one click. "Cookie settings" appears in the footer of every page, and withdrawing consent also deletes the cookies that category had set.

4. Strictly necessary cookies

These are set without consent, which is permitted because the site cannot provide what you asked for without them. There is exactly one.

This site sets no session cookie, uses no local storage, and stores nothing you type into the contact form. If you reject everything, trv_consent is the only cookie in your browser from this domain.

5. Analytics cookies

Off unless you switch them on. If you consent to analytics, the following cookies may be set by Google Analytics. Until then, none of these scripts is loaded and none of these cookies exists.

Where the analytics provider supports it, we enable IP truncation, disable advertising features and set data retention to the shortest option available. Analytics data is retained for a maximum of 14 months.

6. Marketing cookies

Off unless you switch them on. We advertise our own agency, and these cookies are how we tell whether that advertising produces enquiries or just costs money. They may allow the advertising platform to recognise your browser across sites, which is exactly why they need your consent.

Advertising platforms act as independent or joint controllers for parts of this processing. Their own privacy notices apply in addition to ours; see section 7 of the Privacy Policy.

7. Embedded third-party content

The only third-party embed on this site is the map on the contact page. It does not load automatically. Until you press Load map it is a static placeholder, and no request reaches Google — so no Google cookies are set and your IP address is not disclosed to them.

Reloading the page returns the map to its unloaded state. We do not remember that you loaded it.

8. Withdrawing or changing your consent

You can change your mind at any moment, and it takes one click. There is no penalty and no reduced functionality other than the categories you switched off.

1. Press Cookie settings in the footer of any page, or the button below.
2. The banner reopens with your current choices shown. Expand Manage individual categories to switch analytics or marketing on or off individually.
3. Press Reject all, Accept all, or Save my choices.

Change cookie settings

When you withdraw consent for a category, we stop loading that category's scripts immediately and delete the cookies it had set under our own domain. Cookies set on other domains — such as Google's after you loaded the map — can only be removed through your browser, or through the provider's own opt-out. Section 9 explains how.

Withdrawal does not affect data already collected lawfully while consent was in place, but it does stop any further collection. You can also ask us to delete data already collected; see your rights in the Privacy Policy.

9. Controlling cookies in your browser

Your browser can block or delete cookies independently of our banner. Blocking all cookies will also block trv_consent, which means the banner reappears on every visit — that is the browser working correctly, not a fault.

• Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies, and Delete browsing data
• Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
• Safari (macOS) — Settings → Privacy, and Safari → Settings → Advanced → Manage Website Data
• Safari (iOS) — Settings app → Apps → Safari → Clear History and Website Data
• Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data

Most browsers also offer a private or incognito window, which discards cookies when the window closes.

10. Legal basis for cookies

Storing information on your device, or gaining access to information already stored, requires your consent under the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) as implemented in Denmark, unless the storage is strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly requested. Consent must meet the GDPR standard: freely given, specific, informed, unambiguous, and as easy to withdraw as to give.

• Strictly necessary cookies — no consent required; we also rely on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for the associated personal data processing.
• Analytics and marketing cookies — consent under the ePrivacy rules, and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR for the personal data processing that follows.

We keep a record of each consent decision — the categories chosen, the policy version and the timestamp — so we can demonstrate compliance under Article 7(1) GDPR.
